“You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” – Matthew 8:26
This week, I had what I’d call a clear God Moment.
Like many of you, I was and am deep in the stress of closing out the year—big goals, not a lot of time remaining on the clock.
My mind was racing. I sat down for my quiet time with God (aka my D.A.W.G.—Daily Appointment With God), but it was hard to focus. My kids kicked open my door with questions, I gently pushed them back out, took a breath, and prayed.
Then I looked down, and this verse from Matthew 8 jumped back at me:
“You of little faith, why are you so afraid?”
This time it hit home. I’ve read this verse many times before, but this time it landed different.
A Bigger Perspective
Jesus says those words to the disciples while a literal storm was raging. They’re panicking, and He’s calm. Why? Because He’s God and He’s in control.
It reminded me:
The same Jesus who calmed that storm is with us as well.
He’s WAY more powerful than your sales quota.
Completely steady as opposed to your up & down thoughts.
100% reliable unlike your best strategy.
And if He’s with me, then what am I really afraid of?
A Better Way to Finish the Year
Here’s what I’m holding onto—and maybe you should too:
- Be BOLD in your work.
- Don’t let fear freeze you (analysis paralysis tap)
- Love your customers and teammates well.
- Trust God with the final outcome. Focus on the Process instead of the outcome.
- Let your bat off your shoulder and swing for the FENCE!
The storm might still rage around you, but you don’t have to carry it alone.
So, Why Are YOU So Afraid?
If you know follow God you’ve got nothing to be afraid of.
So don’t stress. God’s GOT YOU!
