What’s up Relentless Fam? Hope everyone had a great weekend!
We’re in Week 2 of our 7-Week Sprint to Maximize Sales Effectiveness in 2026:
Protecting Our Time and Using It Wisely.
Time is the only asset we can’t earn back.
The difference between average and elite sales reps?
How they protect and spend their time.
Think about how much time each week is wasted with:
- CRM updates no one reads?
- “Quick” social media scrolls that turn into 30 minutes? (yikes! .. guilty).
- 60-minute meetings that could’ve been a 5-minute email?
Meanwhile, the highest ROI activity in sales still remains the same:
Closing NEW business. It’s literally the main/only thing we are graded on each year.
So why don’t we focus on it more?
But we’re constantly pulled in different directions.
Our phones buzz.
Notifications pop up.
Expense reports filled out during key selling hours…
Distractions multiply.
And often, we want to do everything except the hard, focused work that actually moves the needle.
That’s why creating Winning Systems and Standards is critical.
I highly recommend you do the following:
1️⃣ Organize Your Territory into Zones
In Relentless Sales, we talk about breaking your territory into geographical “Zones.”
This is KEY.
When your territory is organized into clear zones:
- You eliminate decision fatigue
- You increase efficiency
- You maximize selling activity
- You protect your time and focus on the important.
If you haven’t done this yet, I highly recommend it (download the free copy here).
2️⃣ Create Non-Negotiable Standards For Yourself.
Success more about keeping your standards high vs. Motivation.
For years, I had a simple rule:
At 8:00am, all music and podcasts had to be stopped.
No exceptions.
*I literally had a calendar reminder pop up.
That was my cue to start calling and visiting customers. I hated it… but it helped me so much.
No matter how tired I was, it was my cue to suit up and show up!
I heavily encourage you to create standards that remove negotiation from your day.
3️⃣ Eliminate Digital Distractions
Our phones are nonstop distractions and rabbit holes (to put it nicely 😊).
We tell ourselves we’ll check one message …and 20 minutes later we got lost.
If you’re serious about protecting your time, I highly recommend using something like a “Brick” to block distracting apps during peak selling hours. (
Make it non-negotiable.
Protect your prime time like your CAREER depends on it… because it does!
Next week, we move into Week 3: Being Calm and Calculated During Customer Interactions.
Because protecting your time means nothing if you lose control in the moment.
