Good morning, Relentless Fam! Happy Monday! 💪

I was thinking about a question over the weekend.

If I could go back and give my younger self one piece of advice that would have made me a better salesperson, sooner—what would it be?

The answer became pretty clear:

If I could go back I'd say:

"Jon, when it comes to every aspect of sales: do exactly what you say you’re going to do, when you say you’re going to do it."

Simply put: FOLLOW THROUGH on everything.

It sounds simple. But in sales, it’s truly a way to separate yourself from the competition.

Our customers are watching us closely. They want to work with people they can trust, and trust is built through the little things:

  • How quickly do you return their call or text?
  • How quickly do you follow up after a meeting? (I recommend within 24 hours—preferably sub 24 hours.)
  • If you promise to send a document, make an introduction/connection, or find an answer... do you actually do it?
  • When you say, “I’ll get back to you,” can they truly count on you?

I had a customer tell me he expected to hear back from his trusted partners and vendors within 30 minutes.

In our world today, with AI and other tech, customer expectations are even higher.

And when sales reps are managing large territories, hundreds of accounts, and traveling all the time, a good personality isn’t enough.

You need a system that keeps you in line.

What system are you using to make sure nothing falls through the cracks? I'd love to know! Text me.

Because mastering the art of follow-through is one of those seemingly small disciplines that separates the great from the average.

Do what you say you’re going to do.
When you say you’re going to do it.
Every time
.

That's how you build trust.

That's how you build a reputation.

And over time, that's how you WIN WIN WIN.

So smile big today. Bring JOY to your customers and go get ’em this week!!!!

We're in this together,

-Jon
