3 Adjustments Every Salesperson Should Make This Week

Good morning, Relentless Fam! Happy Monday! 💪

I've been thinking a lot about progress lately.

At the end of the day, we all want to know we're moving forward, that we're becoming better than we were yesterday.

As sales professionals, we're wired to chase progress. We track quotas, revenue, rankings, and performance because that's how we provide for our families. But the bigger question is...

How do we continue making progress while building a life of significance?

The answer is simple:

Change.

John Mason (one of my favorite authors) said,

"It is impossible to grow without change." Don't let that discourage you, rather let it encourage you. Every improvement in your life begins with a change in your thinking, your habits, or your actions. The challenge is that most people naturally resist change.

One of the things I always admired about Nick Saban's Football teams (even though I am a Gator) was their ability to make halftime adjustments. Great coaches and great salespeople aren't afraid to adapt. They evaluate, adjust, and improve.

Remember that Change isn’t bad..."Change is your greatest ally." — John Mason

As you kick off this week, spend a few minutes evaluating these three areas:

1. Your Communication

Take an honest look at how you're interacting with customers.

Are you talking more about your company than how you can solve their problems?

The best salespeople make every conversation about the customer.  We > Me.

2. Your Time

What habits are stealing your focus during selling hours?

Social media? Doomscrolling? Email? Busy work?

Small improvements in how you protect your time can create massive gains over the course of a year.

3. Your Targets

Are you spending enough time pursuing the right opportunities/customers?

Qualify faster. Prioritize better. Be willing to move on from deals that aren't going anywhere so you can invest in the ones that will.

A few small adjustments here can completely change your results.

One last reminder...

Don't be so hard on yourself this week.

Go back and read Chapter 2 of Relentless Sales and remember the lesson my Dad shared with me:

Remember to Live from your identity—not for your identity. Faith is always the difference maker and helps put everything in the right perspective.

Your worth isn't determined by your quota.

It's determined by who you already are (God’s kid).

If one of your goals this second half of the year is to win more business and sharpen your sales execution, I'd love for you to check out THE HUNT.

It's the exact execution system I've used throughout my sales career to prioritize the right accounts, manage my territory intentionally, and consistently win more business.

The entire course takes less than 30 minutes, and you'll walk away with a practical system you can implement immediately. Put time on my calendar if you pick up a copy and lets discuss.
