Relentless Sales: The 10 Laws of High-Performance Selling
What’s up, Relentless Fam? Happy Monday!
Last week, we discussed Law #5: Be Undeniable and continued the countdown to the launch of THE HUNT on July 1st. I couldn’t be more excited to share this system with you.
As you know, we’re in the middle of our series:
The 10 Laws of High-Performance Selling
These are principles I’ve been thinking about, refining, and applying throughout my sales career.
So far, we’ve covered:
- Law #1: Organized Sales People WIN
- Law #2: Intent: Value Your Customers and Put Them First
- Law #3: Keep A FULL Pipeline
- Law #4: Be Very Clear About Your Priorities
- Law #5: Be Undeniable
Today, we’re discussing:
Law #6: Celebrate Other People’s Success
Sales is competitive.
Business is competitive.
And competitive environments tend to attract competitive people (Duh, Jon).
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to win.
In fact, you should want to win.
The challenge is learning how to compete the right way.
Recently, UFC star Justin Gaethje shared a story about one of the toughest losses of his career. After being knocked out by Max Holloway in the final second of a fight, one of the first things he reportedly said when he came to was:
“Good for him.”
Think about that.
In one of the most painful moments of his career, his instinct wasn’t bitterness. It wasn’t jealousy.
It was respect.
That’s the mindset of an emotionally healthy & mature competitor.
The truth is, we ALL want to win.
But when a teammate lands a big account and jumps us in the rankings, gets promoted over us, wins an award, or has a breakthrough year, our response should be:
“Good for them.”
And we should mean it.
I’ve found that spending time in God’s Word helps keep my perspective where it needs to be. It reminds me that someone else’s success doesn’t diminish my opportunity.
There’s enough opportunity for all of us.
So… Compete hard.
Pursue excellence.
Push yourself to improve every day.
But don’t become the person who secretly resents the success of others.
Be the teammate who celebrates it.
Because great teams aren’t built on jealousy.
They’re built on encouragement, trust, and shared success.
When one person wins, the whole team gets stronger because it pushes us to get better!
Stay Relentless, Fam!
