If you're looking for a practical system to build pipeline, prioritize your territory, and execute more consistently, I'd love for you to check it out.
Well, as you know, we're in the middle of our series:
The 10 Laws of High-Performance Selling
So far we've covered:
- Law #1: Organized Sales People WIN
- Law #2: Intent: Value Your Customers and Put Them First
- Law #3: Keep A FULL Pipeline
- Law #4: Be Very Clear About Your Priorities
- Law #5: Be Undeniable
- Law #6 – Celebrate Other People's Success
- Law #7: Next Play
Today we're talking about...
Law #8 – Discipline Is a Skill. Train It Every Day.
One of the biggest myths in sales is that top performers are simply more talented or more motivated than everyone else.
I don't believe that's true.
In my experience, the best salespeople aren't necessarily the smartest or the most charismatic, I strongly believe they're simply the most disciplined.
They've trained themselves to do the little things consistently, especially when they don't feel like it. While everyone else is searching for the next "silver bullet," elite salespeople keep mastering the fundamentals.
The 10 Disciplines of Elite Salespeople
- Plan your week before Monday. Winning each week doesn’t happen by accident. Its starts with our preparation the night before.
- Hunt every week. Elite Salespeople prospect consistently so they always have WAY to hit plan.
- Prioritize the right accounts. They live the 80/20 Rule and tackle their biggest opportunities first.
- Protect your calendar. Build this out weekly and maximize your effectiveness.
- Follow up consistently at the appropriate cadence. Persistence and emotional intelligence win deals.
- Prepare for every customer interaction. Never wing it, always have a plan.
- Keep a healthy pipeline. Always be creating tomorrow's opportunities.
- Sharpen your sales skills. Read, practice, seek coaching, and never stop learning.
- Master the Next Play mentality. Don't let yesterday's loss affect today's opportunity. *I need to hear this every day.
- Execute consistently. Discipline beats motivation every time.
Question of the Week
Which of these ten disciplines do you need to improve the most?
Don't try to master all ten.
Pick one.
Commit to it this week.
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments, or feel free to DM, text, or email me.
Have a great week, Relentless Fam!
Remember:
Discipline isn't a personality trait. It's a skill. Train it every day.
